About

OpenVendor was launched to create a bridge between the open source community and commercial vendors. Open source software is changing the way software companies must market software. The open source movement is forcing companies to change their business strategies. The open source movement is still in its infancy, and as the community changes businesses must also adapt.

OpenVendor is aligning its goals with the Open Source Initiative as its charter defines many of the goals of the open source community. For this reason it is important that our licenses are also approved by the OSI. Our licenses are also designed to protect the goals of commercial vendors. We will continue to adapt and change to find the balance between the two goals.
