After months of deliberation, the OSI has finally decided to reject the OVPL and OVLPL. They consider them not to meet the Open Source Definition. Therefor, we do not recommend that people use the OVPL or OVLPL for open source projects. If you find that the OVPL or OVLPL meet your needs you are free to use the license text. We request that you change the name of the license and provide a legal entity as the license steward.

After a lot of hard word we've made the site open. We will be submitting both the Open Vendor Public License(OVPL) and Open Vendor Lessor Public License(OVLPL) to the Open Source Initiative(OSI) for approval. If you would like to make comments on the licenses or get in contact with us, please use the OSI License Discuss mailing list. Please be aware that neither the OVPL or OVLPL are currently certified by OSI and may change before certification is granted. For this reason we suggest that these licenses are not used for licensing at this time. |
